What have P1/2 been getting up to?
The past few weeks have been super busy in P1 and P2. Here are some photographs of what we have been doing...
😀 Celebrating World Mental Health Day - Today the children created High 5 Handprints. We used them to practise our breathing. We breathe in as we trace up our thumb, and breathe out as we trace our finger down. Repeat 4 times until your High 5 is complete. We discussed how this strategy can help help us to calm down when’s we are feeling overwhelmed. We have a special Reflection Area in our classroom that 5e children can use when 5ey need time to reflect and talk about their feelings. They recognised this is one way to look after their minds and brains.
😀 Grow in Love - The Children had the opportunity to use their speaking and listening skills to talk about their favourite part of creation. Some said family, rainbows, my dog, the beach and dinosaurs!
😀 Autumn crafts - The Children enjoyed painting their autumn trees. Did you know we had a hedgehog visit us? The children named him ‘Spike’ and after being rescued fom the front of school, he is now recuperating at a rescue centre in Enniskillen. We hope he will be brought back to be released soon.
😀 All about me - The Children have enjoyed painting their self-portraits and celebrating all the qualities that make them special!
