From the 19th - 30th April, P1-P7 will be taking part in an active travel event called the Big Pedal. This is the largest schools active travel event in the UK and it is ran by Sustrans.
During the event, we hope to see a large number of pupils taking part in forms of active travel to and from school. Active travel involves: walking, cycling, and even scooting!
A variety of active travel competitions and activities will be carried out within school. We also be including the themes of active travel and road safety in some of our lessons.
Please read the attached guidance which gives an overview of what will be happening during the Big Pedal. There is also a family competition you may be interested in.
You will also find guidance for a supervised morning walking group (P3-P7) which will begin at Castle Park centre.
Details to follow for a possible P1/2 walking group at a later date. Parents/Guardians will be notified of this when it is put in place.
