Oh my goodness! September is flying by... But they do say 'time flies when you're having fun!'
We have been flat to the mat in P.1. this month playing and learning lots.
In numeracy we have been busy recalling our colours. Why don't you test us at home? We are really clever. We have also been organising ourselves into groups according to different criteria. We are brilliant at counting verbally, and can count how many children are in each set with our teacher.
In literacy we have been developing our pre-writing and fine motor skills through play and we will be ready to write really soon! Miss Judge has started to teach us our sounds; We started with 's.' We are fantastic at making the 's' sound and making snakes that say 'sssss.' We will be exploring a, t and i next!
We love to read in P.1. Miss Judge reads us a story daily and we are beginning to meet and recognise new characters.
But, we don't just work all day. We play too and have so much fun. We also take some breaks. We have been exceptional at bringing in healthy snacks and Miss Judge is so proud! Well done! We have been very brave and responsible boys and girls in the canteen also, as we have been staying for lunch/dinner this week! Next week we can stay in school until 2pm because we have showed how amazing we are.
We are getting really good at lining up, following instructions, sitting quietly and showing good listening. We always try our best and that is all Miss Judge can ask for!
