Recounting our Mass Visit in P4
This is a special year in the faith journey of the Primary 4 children in the school. Later in the school year the children will receive two sacraments, the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. Preparation is very important and Canon Jimmy invited all the Primary 4 children to attend Mass in the Holy Cross Church on Wednesday the 22nd November.
Mr Hanna's class and Mr McArdle's class were delighted and on that morning, they all set off walking from school to the chapel. When they arrived they got seated and listened intently to Canon Jimmy as he said Mass. When this had concluded Mary McDaid then spoke to the children. She talked to them about, their relationship with God and their faith, about Jesus and the upcoming Christmas celebrations, about respecting others and themselves, about being thankful and also the Eucharist. During this Mary asked many questions, to which the children provided great responses showing keen interest and enthusiasm.
After this, the children thanked both Mary and Canon Jimmy before we all set off for school once again. All the children are now looking forward to some more special visits during the school year to discover more about themselves and their faith.
Great work by everyone for being so well-behaved and respectful, when walking to and from the chapel, and during both Mass and Mary's talk.
