The children in Primary 3 / 4 have been enjoying their World Around Us topic Let's Get Growing.
Last week we set about completing our plant growth experiment.
Before we began the children each made a biodegradeable cardboard plant pot that will help protect our planet.
Through discussion, we established some things we would need and how we could hopefully see the impact of different elements on growth.
We planted our bean seeds in three different soils; sand, peat and compost.
Some of the planted seeds are watered daily, some are watered with liquid fertiliser, and some remain dry.
We also have some stored in darkness and some in daylight.
When we see shoots we will measure them and hopefully develop a better understanding of the best conditions for growth.
Well done to all the kids for their hard work who will no doubt want to post their findings.
