P7 Folk Park Trip
On Thursday, the Primary 7s enjoyed a fantastic trip to the Ulster American Folk Park in Omagh as part of their learning with regard to he Famine in WAU.
We were taken on a guided tour to the Single Room Cabin, a small one house room where up to twelve or thirteen people could live! From there, we visited the Campbell House which was in contrast very different to the single room cabin due to its size and luxury. After that, we visited the Tullyallen Mass House church pull often double up as a school! Finally, we took a voyage onboard a coffin ship and arrived safely in America.
A wealth of knowledge was shared by the guides and the children were able to bring a lot of their prior knowledge to the discussions and questions that were asked.
An an enjoyable day was had by all!
