P4 Problem Solvers

2nd Mar 2025

Last week in P4 the children completed a fun and engaging classroom activity. They were presented with a task that involved different coloured slips of paper. The goal was to find all the different possibilities for arranging the slips of paper in combinations of two colours.

The children eagerly worked in groups, trying different combinations using their logical thinking and collaboration skills. Some children noticed patterns, while others used trial and error to find solutions.  The children also recorded their outcomes in a variety of ways, with some writing the combinations and others colouring little diagrams.

The children began to recognise the importance of organisation and how a systematic approach can help when solving a problem.

Some of the children even progressed to create their own 'Slips of paper' challenges, with some looking at the addition of another colour, while others considered how many combinations of three colours they could make.

Great work Primary 4.
