P2 Catholic Schools Week

29th Jan 2021

This week, children in Primary 2 have been participating in Catholic Schools Week.

There was a special theme for each day of Catholic Schools Week. They were as follows:

Monday - Community of Faith. The children were encouraged to help their Faith grow. The activity for this day was to visit Holy Cross, light a candle and say a prayer or draw a picture of the church.

Tuesday - Community of Learning. The children were reminded that we are always learning about God and the way he wants us to live. His son Jesus had a ‘Golden Rule’ which was to ‘Treat others as you want to be treated’. The activity for this theme was for the children to make their own Golden Ticket.

Wednesday - Community of Love. We are all loved by God and surrounded by love within our school, parish and family. The activity for this theme was to think of someone you love, draw a picture for them or simply tell them how much you love them.

Thursday - Community of Resilience. We know the times we are in now are difficult and challenging for many. Resilience was explained to the children as not giving up, and to keep going when things are tough. We all have feelings and sometimes, they can be happy or sad. The activity for this theme was to pick an activity - singing, dancing, drawing, talking to a friend; to do it and see how you feel after.

Finally, Friday’s theme was Hope. Hope is keeping faith and knowing that there is light at the end of the tunnel. The activity for today was to identify something special about themselves or others.

Here is a short video of what P2 got up to!
