P1 wanted to know what was the quickest way to melt ice, so today we carried out an investigation to see the effect different temperatures had on ice.
We began by placing one ice cube on the hot radiator, one ice cube was left sitting on a desk, we each got an ice cube to hold in our hands and then Miss Mc Gorman poured boiling water over ice cubes in a bowl.
We were very fascinated with our results! We discovered that boiling water was the quickest way to melt the ice cubes and the ice cube that was left on the desk took the longest time to melt. However, we were surprised to find out that the ice cube melted quicker in our hands than it did on the hot radiator.
We really enjoyed our ice investigation today. :)
