P7 have made an excellent start to their numeracy this year!
They have covered loads of place value and addition in recent weeks, and are looking forward to tackling some multiplication and division before mid-term. Seven digit numbers were no match for their mathematical skills so we had to look at twelve digit numbers on one occasion! It is great to see them extending their learning already.
Below are some images from a differentiated in-class learning walk. Pupils completed a range of column method addition calculations and challenged themselves by working through the different colours. After this, they used some ICT time to create an addition and subtraction vocabulary bank which they can use to help them in upcoming word problems.
