12th - 20th October is Maths week Ireland.
The school has an active subscription to Times Table Rock Stars and this week we are enrolled in an all-island Times Tables competition.
The competition runs from 15th-17th of October and the children can contribute for a maximum of one hour on each of these days between 0730 and 1930. Every correct answer each child provides earns their county, school and class a point.
Having started the day well down the leaderboard, we now sit 33rd amongst all the schools in Ireland. Some children had an opportunity to begin their participation in school but we need your help to encourage the children from P4-P7 to complete more at home. This would represent a valuable use of device time and hopefully continue to develop a positive attitude towards mathematics within our pupils. The child can choose what times tables they are comfortable completing in the jamming mode, which is great for consolidation, or even try some more challenging ones in garage, studio or gig.
Times Table Rock Stars is an intelligent application that analyses a child's ability and then assign an appropriate level of times tables, as the child progresses. This is a fun and engaging way for children to learn and develop their ability.
