Friendship Four Ice Hockey
On Friday, 36 P7 pupils travelled to the SSE arena to watch Boston University take on Merrimack College in the Friendship Four tournament. This is an annual invitational tournament in which four top ranked American university teams travel to Belfast.
P7s set off up the M1 at 10:30am and weren't back in St. Ronan's until 7:30pm! Pupils enjoyed a brilliant game of ice hockey filled with skill, hard work, big hits and some excellent goals from the players involved. The pupils displayed excellent behaviour and respect throughout the trip and I think it is also worth noting they were the best dancers to appear on the jumbo screen!
We also stopped off at the Applegreen on the way home were pupils bought some well earned treats and snacks.
As the day was so action packed, Mr. Foy forgot to take lots of photos but there are a few below!
Thanks also to Chris and Mrs McGoldrick for attending and ensuring pupils were safe throughout this busy trip. Mrs McGoldrick also kindly provided each pupil with a Belfast Giants souvenir!
I think a few games of uni-hoc are going to be squeezed in between now and Christmas!
