Excellent Engineers
As part of the NI Science Festival, P7 have been participating in a number of science experiments.
On Wednesday, pupils had a go at engineering! We looked at how the world's tallest buildings had changed in terms of design and structure over the past 100 years.
We then used spaghetti sticks and marshmallows to create some buildings. Pupils were encouraged to build a strong foundation and work collaboratively as they put their structures together.
The structural integrity of some designs was tested by seeing if they could hold a highlighter or stack of sticky notes.
Pupils demonstrated excellent problem-solving skills and resilience when they encountered difficulty with their designs. This was a brilliant, first attempt at engineering in the classroom and is something we hope to come back to before the end of the year!
