On Wednesday of this week, children from P4-P7 took part in the annual cross country event organised by the Fermanagh and OmaghDistrict Council, which took place at the Bawnacre Centre in Irvinestown. Conditions were far from ideal for all the runners as they were faced with cool temperatures, driving rain and strong winds. Nevertheless, the St. Ronan's athletes all gave a great account of themselves.
The day started well with Daniel Oldfield running a great race to take the silver medal in the P4 boys' race. His performance was then improved upon by Eoghan Wynne, who had a tremendous run in the P6 category . He started strongly and held the lead from the beginning of the race right to the finish line.
Colm Mc Namee tried his heart out in the P7 race and was very unfortunate not to be placed in the top three.
All those who took part, represented the school admirably and are to be commended for their great efforts. We'll done all!
