What a day it has been! Christmas has arrived in P1/2....
Mrs B arrived into school this morning and couldn’t believe her eyes! The classroom had magically turned into a Christmas Classroom! Decorations put up, lights dangled and the home corner had turned into a GINGERBREAD HOUSE!
The children had a suspicion who it might be but Mrs B thought she had better ring Mr McGrath and ask if he knew what had happened when everyone went home from school yesterday evening. He said that someone small entered the school yesterday evening with a very special job to do...
After break, we got the biggest surprise! An elf, magically arrived in our class along with a letter! The letter explained that Santa had sent his Elf called Ginger especially to our class. The elf’s job is to make sure that the boys and girls in our class are kind, nice, show good listening and hopefully make it onto the ‘good list’. Santa said Ginger the Elf was very good friends with the Gingerbread People and that they might come to visit the classroom too!
We also lit the first candle on the Advent Wreath and we talked about how Advent is the time when we prepare for Jesus’ birthday! We said a special prayer and read the story of when the Angel Gabriel came to Mary and told her the good news!
