One month on from the Sustrans Big Walk and Wheel, St. Ronan's can again be proud of the massive effort they put in over the two week event!
Despite a slow start and less than favourable weather conditions, the pupils of St. Ronan's dug deep to ensure we retained our 4th place position in the 'Large Schools' section. We also finished 1st in the Fermanagh and Omagh District for the third year running! This was a great achievement and is a reflection of why we are now a Sustrans Gold Ambassador School.
A special thanks must go to all those who helped out in the planning and running of the event as well as Castle Park for use of their facilities. All staff and parents who supervised the walks and the crossing patrols at Eurospar, Lidl and the school, helped ensure all pupils were safe as they made their way to school. Thank you also to the P7 children who were tasked with leading younger groups.
Pupils are encouraged to continue walking, cycling and scooting to school over the next few weeks. There is a special walking event being organised for P7 pupils and this will take place on Fridays throughout June. More details to follow.
